Refreshing Mint Matcha Latte
Matcha and mint are a match made in heaven. The cool crisp flavour of the brewed mint doesn’t overpower the subtle grassy note of the matcha green tea flavour. Instead, it enhances the earthy notes found in this super tea. Enjoy this antioxidant-rich drink in the morning or in the afternoon for a healthy energy boost.
Recipe
- 1 teaspoon of ceremonial-grade matcha powder
- A handful of fresh mint leaves
- ¾ cup of milk
Directions
- Bring the ¾ cup of milk to a simmer. Froth using a bamboo or electric whisk. Set aside.
- Steep mint leaves in ½ cup of hot water for 5-10 minutes.
- Add a couple of tablespoons of the steeped mint tea to a bowl with matcha powder. Using your bamboo or metal whisk, whisk the matcha and water until light and frothy. Add the rest of the mint tea and whisk in a “W” or “M” shaped pattern.
- Top off your minty matcha drink with the frothed milk and voila! Pour over ice if you prefer an iced latte.
